On October 3, 2026, Lubbock Lodge No. 1392 had the honor of hosting the Forum & Exam, bringing Masons from across the area together for a morning of fellowship, education, and brotherhood.

The day began with great fellowship and a hearty breakfast. The Grotto fired up the discs and served a wonderful breakfast, complete with homemade salsa that was especially well received.

Approximately 25 Masons were in attendance for the morning session. Right Illustrious Steve Pepper, along with the area District Instructors, led the day’s activities and provided instruction, discussion, and guidance throughout the Forum & Exam.

Following the morning session, Lubbock Lodge provided lunch for the brethren. The meal was prepared by the Worshipful Master’s family and featured King Ranch Chicken, charro beans, cornbread, Texas sheet cake, and all the fixings.

This will be Right Illustrious Pepper’s last time to visit the Lubbock area Masons in this capacity.  He gave a heartfelt thanks to those who support the forum and exams.

Lubbock Lodge No. 1392 is grateful to everyone who participated, taught, cooked, served, and helped make the day a success. Events such as this remind us that Masonry is strengthened not only through our work in the Lodge, but through the fellowship and shared pursuit of knowledge we enjoy with our Brothers.

1392 Hosts Forum & Exam

James A. Clark

For James, the journey of Masonry—which began in May 2000 at Clinton Lodge No. 23—is about more than just titles. Currently active in Lubbock Lodge No. 1392, Wolfforth-Frenship Lodge No. 1447, and various York and Scottish Rite bodies, he sees these affiliations as avenues for deep Masonic education. James advocates for a Craft where the bonds of the dining hall are supported by a dedication to our ancient truths. His mission within the District 93 MWSA and beyond is to harmonize social ties with reflection, moving the brotherhood from rote memorization toward the genuine pursuit of light.
