Life & Career Early Life & Family Jimmy Lee Porter was born on July 25, 1935. He passed from this life on August 16, 2018, at the age of 83. He is survived by his loving wife, two children, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Community Service Jimmy was known for his generous spirit and willingness to work for a good cause. Colleagues and friends fondly remember his impact on the scholarship fund at UMC (University Medical Center), where he became beloved for \"popping popcorn\" to help raise funds—a small act that left a large impact on those he worked with. After a rapid ascent through the line, he became the first Worshipful Master to serve two consecutive terms, guiding the Lodge for a total of two years. Following his second term, he immediately went on to serve the Grand Lodge as District Deputy.
