Past Master Biography: George Robert Flickinger (1933 – 2018) Past Master: Lubbock Lodge No. 1392 Year Served: 2002–2003 I. Life & Career Early Life & Education George Robert Flickinger was born on January 31, 1933, in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, to George and Margaret Flickinger. He graduated from Lemoyne High School in 1950. After his military service, he utilized the GI Bill to further his education, graduating from Shippensburg State Teacher\'s College in 1960, where he was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Military Service Upon graduating high school, George enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country with honor before returning to civilian life to complete his education. Faith & Family George was a longtime resident of Lubbock and a devoted member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Janet Louise Binner, as well as his second wife, Patricia Knight. He is survived by his daughters, Denise and Tanya, his sister Twila, and five grandchildren. Later in life, he resided in Spring, Texas. II. III. Service Record & Offices Held Brother Flickinger’s dedication was immediate. He was appointed Junior Steward in June 1996—just days after being raised as a Master Mason. He served continuously through the progressive line, preparing himself for leadership by completing the L.I.F.E. Introduction and Operations modules before being elected Worshipful Master in 2002. Services: A memorial service celebrating his life and faith was held at Klein United Methodist Church in Spring, Texas.
