Since the 1960’s, the Panhandle Masonic Hilltop Association has sponsored an annual get-together of Masons, sometimes with degree work, sometimes with out-of-state demonstrations, and most recently an address by the Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Texas.
This year’s Panhandle Hilltop BBQ will be at Palo Duro State Park on Saturday, September 21, with Hon. Jerry Martin as the guest speaker. The schedule has not been finalized but if tradition is preserved, registration will open at 9am, call the meeting to order at 10am, introduce visitors, then the guest speaker. When he has concluded his remarks, he will formally install the newly elected Hilltop officers for the ensuing year. Then it is time to eat and meet one another on the level, with all being concluded by about 2pm.
Since the meeting site is somewhat further south than prior years, invitations are extended to all Masons, EA and FC included, to attend on September 21 to welcome the Deputy Grand Master to the Panhandle. Access to the Pioneer Amphitheater in Palo Duro Canyon State Park at a very nominal expense and have access to seating for several hundred visitors.
